1967 CORVETTE –JUST DISCOVERED!!! ONE OWNER ORIGINAL WITH ONLY 2,996 MILES!!!–THE ULTIMATE TIME CAPSULE!!!

LAST DRIVEN REGULARLY IN OCTOBER 1967!!!

DISPLAYED IN THE ENTRANCE TO THE "GREAT HALL"AT THE 2012 BLOOMINGTON GOLD

Extraordinary and the ultimate "time capsule" 1967 corvette!!! Purchased april 2012 from the estate of the original owner!!! Unveiled to the world and displayed in the entrance of the 2012 bloomington gold "great hall". An amazingly all original 1967 427/390 4-speed corvette coupe in rare ermine white with red vinyl interior and red stinger hood. All numbers are correct and match. This corvette was last driven regularly in the fall of 1967!!! It has been driven only 2,996 miles from new and is the ultimate definition of a "time capsule". This corvette has been stored from the time it was purchased new on may 20, 1967 until april 2012, in the total darkness of a one car, climate controlled garage in the low humidity of colorado springs, co. As a result, it has been unbeleivably preserved with no fading of any surfaces and no deterioration of any material. The paint, chrome, stainless, carpet and interior are all in amazing "as new" condition. It is as beautiful as when new!!! Incredibly it still smells new!!! This corvette was built on may 10, 1967 and is equipped with its original l-36, 427/390 with 4-speed, tinted glass, original bolt on wheels, side dual exhaust, telescopic steering wheel, am/fm radio, original floor mats, and 3:36 positrac rear axle. This car has never been disassembled and has never been touched by anyone other than the original owner and may be the finest, most well preserved, lowest mile, original 1967- 427 corvette stingray on the planet!

This corvette was bought new on may 20, 1967 by donnie mcnamara of colorado springs, co. He owned the car until he died in july 2011. Donnie was never married nor had children. In the last 2o years or so of his life, he befreinded a couple who lived near him in colorado springs. When he died, donnie left everything he owned to this couple. Video taped interviews with the couple revealed the story of donnie mcnamara's 1967 - 427 corvette. According to the interviews, donnie was an american marine veteran. He was very patriotic. When he died, there were 13 american flags in his one car garage. He was also a very peculiar and private individual. In his life, he never owned a checking account or credit card. He always wanted everyone to think that he was poor and desolate. He did not have much education and very rarely would leave colorado springs. In the fall of 1966 after leaving the military, he traveled to las vegas. This was the only time in his life that he ever went to las vegas and he won $5,000.00 in a slot machine. That was a lot of money in 1966! He returned to his parents house who he lived with. When he returned he told his dad, who was a used car saleman, to take the money and buy him a new corvette. At that time a new 427 corvette cost more than $5,000.00. According to the interveiws, his father found a dealership in lamar, co, about 125 miles away, who would sell donnie a 427 corvette for under $5,000.00. So he ordered the car just how donnie wanted it. As a result of his patriotism, he ordered it in ermine white with red stinger and interior. He ordered it with black wall tires intentionally and as soon as the car arrived, he removed the black walls and put the fancy tire of the day on the car which was a double white wall with a blue stripe. Hence the patriotic american red, white and blue theme. He took delivery of the car from ray motor company in lamar, co, on may 20, 1967 and drove it home. He drove it sparingly over the next few months or so. Then knowing that the license, property tax and insurance fees were coming due, he stopped driving the corvette during the daylight. From that point on he denied owning the car any longer and only drove it at night when no one would see him. Once the car hit 2,996 miles, he never drove it again because he did not want the odometer to turn over 3,000 miles. Also from that point on, he would never claim that he owned a corvette, once again claiming to be poor. When the car was removed from donnie's garage in 2012 after his death, his next door neighbor who lived less than 10 yards away watched. He said that he had lived there for 22 years and always heard that there was a corvette in that garage, but never, ever saw it and donnie always denied it was in there. Also according to the interviews here are some other very interesting facts:

But perhaps the car in the Great Hall which has been generating the most buzz is stationed right inside the main entrance. It's an original, unrestored 1967 Corvette 427 coupe. With only 2996 miles on it. Which hasn't been driven regularly since October of 1967 or at all since the mid-1980's. Only three people have ever sat in the car and nobody has ever been in the passenger seat. Only a dozen people have seen it before this week and only eight had seen it until February of this year. The seat belts have never been out of the retractors, the jacket on the seat has never been removed, and it hasn't been washed, cleaned, sat in, or touched since it was found. A survivor in the most extreme definition of the word.

A 1967 Corvette 427 coupe with 2996 original miles barely qualifies to be called a used car.

The Great Hall is just that. It's a full-blown "Oh Wow!" experience and right now I'm heading over there again. The mountain is waiting.
