The Great Race

The Bathurst 1000 is a 1000 kilometre (620 miles) race held annually at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia. The race traces its lineage to the 1960 Armstrong 500.

Since then 52 races have taken place under the combined history of two events at two venues in two states. It is known among fans and broadcasters as "The Great Race", and is widely regarded as the pinnacle of Australian motorsport. Since 2000, the race has been run exclusively for V8 Supercars and is now a round of the V8 Supercar Championship Series.

The race winners receive the Peter Brock Trophy which was introduced at the 2006 race in honour of nine-time Bathurst winner Peter Brock, most successful driver in the history of the race.

Bathurst 1000 2010 first lap and crash

Team Bray Racing is once again returning to Bathurst this weekend as part of the on track entertainment at Australia's most well known motorsport event and are keen to put on a show with both of their burnout cars while promoting drag racing.

At the Team Bray compound (Harris Park Merchandise Area) fans will be able to get up close with Victor and Ben’s race cars and the men themselves.

The team said they are thrilled to be back at Bathurst and to be included in the 50th anniversary celebrations.

“We have been part of the Bathurst on track entertainment for a long time now and enjoy coming here every year but to be included in the 50th anniversary line up is special, so trust me I am going to put on a 50th anniversary show," Ben said.

To keep with what’s happening, fans can look at the live pit cam on http://www.teambrayracing.com and there will be updates to Facebook throughout the weekend. https://www.facebook.com/teambrayracing?fref=ts
